The exterior stone is being installed at The Laurel. The stone adds the charm the owners want for their refined farmhouse. Soon to follow will be the stucco and roofing. The color palette will continue the simple elegance of warm grey tones to make the house a peaceful oasis.

Construction activity is all hands on deck at the Ligan Residence. The carpenters are hard at work installing the second floor subfloor and framing perimeter walls. The crew is moving efficiently to get the framing up so roof trusses can be installed.

To simplify the framing process the cupola for the Ligan residence was built on the ground and then suspended in mid-air. The carpenters then installed the roof framing up to it before releasing the crane. It was a temporary illusion but the resulting two-story library will be magical.

Last week on site at the Ligan residence the rooms were starting to take shape. There was a constant buzz from the compound miter saw as the carpenters were busy installing the first floor walls. The angles and curves designed to optimize flow and views were a welcome challenge for the carpenters.
